Fire Sprinkler

In 2010, Seici Core Fire Protection Systems expanded its capabilities by starting the Fire Sprinkler Division. Seici Core can provide design and installation services for all types of fire sprinkler systems, including Wet and Dry Pipe, Pre-Action, Deluge, Fixed Spray, and Fire Fighting Foam. There are a variety of fire sprinkler options to protect your property and ensure the safety of all personnel and property. Seici Core consultants and designers are able to analyze the hazards of your facility and determine the best fire sprinkler option to provide the safest possible environment.

Seici Core Fire Protection Systems is able to design and install your wet pipe fire sprinkler system. A wet pipe system utilizes fixed piping that is constantly pressurized with water from a reliable source. Each sprinkler head is equipped with a heat sensitive element that will open when fire temperatures reach a given threshold, allowing the fire sprinkler system to extinguish the fire. To minimize water damage, only the sprinkler heads in the area of the fire will activate. Upon activation, water flows through the piping network. This flow is monitored by the building fire alarm system to notify occupants of the emergency. Wet pipe fire sprinkler systems are ideal for many commercial and industrial applications provided that the area is not subject to freezing conditions. An Seici Core consultant can determine whether a wet pipe systems is the best option to protect your facility and ensure the safety of all building occupants.

Design and installation services are provided by Seici Core Fire Protection Systems for all dry pipe fire sprinkler systems. A dry pipe system utilizes a fixed piping network that is constantly pressurized with air or nitrogen. Similar to wet pipe systems, each sprinkler head is equipped with a heat sensitive element that will open when fire temperatures reach a given threshold, reducing the air pressure in the dry pipe network. Upon loss of pipe pressure, a valve opens to allow water to flow into the hazard. This flow is monitored by the building fire alarm system to notify occupants of the emergency. Dry pipe fire sprinkler systems are ideal for protecting unheated structures or areas that are subject to freezing temperature situations. An Seici Core consultant can determine whether a dry pipe system is the best option to protect your facility and ensure the safety of all building occupants.

A pre-action fire sprinkler system is a type of dry pipe fire sprinkler system. Unlike basic dry pipe systems, pre-action systems require two separate and distinct fire detection signals before water is allowed to flow into the fire zone. The fixed piping network of the pre-action system is pressurized with air or nitrogen, and when a sprinkler head is activated by fire, the pressure drops. A second signal from another type of fire detection system (e.g., smoke or heat detection) is required in addition to the loss of pressure before water is allowed to flow into the hazard. The main benefit to a pre-action system is that the system will not discharge water due to a broken sprinkler head. The requirement of two signals assists in ensuring that the system is actuated only in the event of true fire situation. Seici Core consultants can determine whether a non-interlock, single-interlocked, or double-interlocked pre-action system is right for your facility to best protect property and ensure the safety of all building occupants.

For applications requiring total flooding, a deluge fire sprinkler system can be designed and installed by Seici Core Fire Protection Systems. Deluge fire systems utilize open sprinkler heads and a dry piping network. A deluge valve will allow water to flood the hazard via every sprinkler head when actuated by a hydraulic, pneumatic, manual, or electric releasing system. Deluge systems are used to create a fire buffer zone or to cool surfaces to prevent deformation or structural failures in the event of a fire. This type of system provides proper fire protection in areas that are subject to combustibles with low flashpoints, rapid fire spread, product handling centers, and many other applications. Seici Core specialists can determine whether a deluge system is best suited to protect your property and personnel safety.

Seici Core Fire Protection Systems can design and install a fixed spray fire sprinkler system to protect specific hazards and equipment. A fixed spray system is a type of deluge system that orients nozzles around individual pieces of equipment, such as a storage vessel or electrical transformer, to remove heat and prevent deformation and weakening of the structure in the event of a fire. The fixed spray system utilizes open sprinkler heads and a dry piping network. A deluge valve will allow water to flow through the piping network. Sprinkler heads are oriented around the hazard to ensure that every surface is equally covered with water. Seici Core specialists can determine whether a fixed spray system is the fire protection solution to protect your equipment for fire and fire related damages.

Certain applications are best protected by fire fighting foam system which can be designed and installed by Seici Core Fire Protection Systems specialists. Foam systems utilize foam-water sprinkler heads or nozzles in a deluge-type piping network (dry pipe with constantly open sprinkler heads/nozzles). In the event of a fire, a deluge valve allows water to flow into the piping network which is combined with an air-foam concentrate. Foam systems smother and cool the affected hazard. These systems are ideal for protecting hazards subject to fires from flammable liquids such as extraction plants, aircraft hangers, or any other facility that may experience flammable liquid spills. Seici Core hazard analysts are able to determine whether a foam systems is best suited for your specific application.

Clean Agent / Halon Alternatives

In 1998, Halon was determined be too harmful for the environment and further production was banned. Halon is part of a family of fire suppressants known as "Clean Agents." Clean agents are designed to extinguish all types of ordinary liquid, combustible, and electrical fires, from deep-seated fires in early stages to fully developed fires in later stages. Another main benefit to clean agent fire suppression systems is that they will not damage any adjacent equipment that is otherwise undamaged by smoke or fire. Lastly, the concentration of clean agent fire suppression systems is low enough that it will not cause any adverse effects to personnel caught in the fire hazard during discharge. These systems are unmatched for protection in data centers, control rooms, telecommunication facilities, switchgear enclosures, rare book libraries, record storage, and any location where additional damage due to fire suppression systems is unacceptable.

Numerous fire suppression alternatives have been developed to act as alternatives to Halon, including FM-200®, Argonite®, and Novec™ 1230. Seici Core Fire Protection Systems provides services to design and install all types of gaseous fire suppression systems. Additionally, Seici Core can remove existing systems and properly dispose of any remaining Halon agent. Seici Core's consultants can analyze your specific hazard and determine the best fire protection option for you.

Seici Core Fire Protection Systems provides design and installation services to protect your new facility, retrofit your existing building or replace your existing Halon fire suppression system with an FM-200® fire suppression system. Manufactured by Chemtura Corporation®, FM-200® is one of the most widely used clean agent / Halon alternatives today. FM-200® waterless suppression agent is able to effectively extinguish fires and leave equipment undamaged. FM-200® is ideal for data centers, control rooms, telecommunication rooms, and many other locations where downtime and lost equipment costs are unacceptable. These fire systems are preferred in areas that do not have much spare space available. The FM-200® storage cylinders require up to seven (7) times less space than comparable systems utilizing Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and other inert gases. Extinguishing concentration levels of agent are reached in 10 seconds or less to put out fires before considerable damage occurs. This results in less fire and smoke damage, decreasing equipment losses and downtime while increasing the safety of occupants. Additionally, FM-200® systems are designed so that personnel caught in the fire zone during discharge will not experience any adverse affects.

Seici Core Fire Protection Systems provides design and installation services to protect your new facility, retrofit your existing building or replace your existing Halon fire suppression system with an Argonite® fire suppression system. Argonite® is a 50:50 mixture of two (2) inert gases: Argon (Ar) and Nitrogen (N2). Since it utilizes gases that are found in everyday air, Argonite® is environmentally neutral with zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) and global warming potential (GWP). Upon discharge, the clean agent reduces oxygen concentration from the normal 21% to 12-13%. Because the density of Argonite® is similar to air, hold times are greatly increased and requirements for room sealing are reduced, making Argonite® a great choice for hazards with limited air tightness. Fires are extinguished effectively within 60 seconds or less, and oxygen levels remain at acceptable concentrations for human occupancy, making Argonite® a Halon alternative that provides excellent fire extinguishing capabilities as well as ensuring the safety of personnel and occupants.

Seici Core Fire Protection Systems provides design and installation services to protect your new facility, retrofit your existing building, or replace your existing Halon fire suppression system with a Novec™ 1230 fire suppression system. Novec™ 1230 is a liquid at room temperatures and has therefore been nicknamed by some as "Dry Water." In the event of a fire, the fire suppression agent is turned to gas as it passes through the discharge nozzles. The Novec™ 1230 fluid extinguishes by removing heat from the fire area and interrupting the combustion process. Novec™ 1230 is manufactured by 3M™ under strict ISO 9001 guidelines, ensuring that no residue is left on equipment in the event of a discharge. Like all other clean agents, Novec™ 1230 is safe for the environment and humans, making it another great choice for protection of property and personnel and occupant safety.

Water Mist Fire Suppression

Seici Core Fire Protection Systems specializes in the design and installation of Water Mist fire suppression systems. Additionally, Seici Core can retrofit your existing Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Halon, or other fire suppression system to Water Mist to ensure that your fire system is safe for the environment along with the safety of personnel and property. Water Mist fire suppression is among the safest technologies for personnel, machinery, sensitive equipment, and the environment. Utilizing only water and nitrogen for pressurization, Water Mist fire suppression is 100% harmless to humans and the environment.

Unlike fire sprinkler systems, the Water Mist system does not saturate the fuel source which can lead to additional water damage. Instead, Water Mist fire suppression systems extinguish fires using two basic methods. First, by creating a cloud of tiny water droplets, the surface area of the water is increased, allowing the water to rapidly and more effectively remove heat from the fire. Second, as the fire draws oxygen to itself to support combustion, it also draws in the Water Mist droplets which displace oxygen at the location of fire, interrupting the combustion process. An additional benefit to Water Mist is that it utilizes a dry discharge piping network, so the risk of freezing is eliminated. For more information on retrofitting your existing fire system to Water Mist, please read our Brochure and White Paper.

Seici Core Fire Protection Systems specializes in the design and installation of Marioff Corporation's HI-FOG® Water Mist fire suppression systems. The HI-FOG® system utilizes high pressure to achieve the finest water droplets possible. With an average drop size of 50 to 120 µm, the HI-FOG® system achieves maximum heat removal and penetrative abilities of other gaseous fire suppression systems. This makes the HI-FOG® system one of the best fire protection options for protection of property, personnel, and environment.

Marioff's HI-FOG® system is suitable for a variety of applications. Originally developed for use in large passenger ships and engine rooms, it is also recommended for numerous land-based applications, including power turbine and generator enclosures, machinery spaces, underground railway systems, data center and telecommunication facilities, hotels, offices, museums, historic and heritage buildings, and many more. Seici Core consultants are available to assist in determining the best fire protection solution for your specific application.

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Fire Suppression

Seici Core Fire Protection Systems specializes in the design, installation, and maintenance of all types of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) fire extinguishing systems. CO2 is a cost effective solution that suppresses fires in a fast and efficient manor for a variety of applications. CO2 is a low cost inert gas that is electrically non-conductive and does not cause damage to property or equipment. The systems can be operated automatically or manually and adapted to protect single or multiple hazards simultaneously. CO2 fire suppression systems are ideal for Local Applications and Spot Protection, Power Generation Facilities, Oil and Gas Pumping Stations, Manufacturing Plants, Food Processing Facilities, and many more. Seici Core consultants are able to access your hazard(s) and determine the best CO2 option for your facility.

In 2008, NFPA 12: Standard on Carbon Dioxide Extinguishing Systems was revised and now includes provisions for mandatory implementation of additional life safety equipment for both new and existing CO2 fire suppression systems. Please review our information and services with regard to the latest requirements set by the NFPA.

**We also offer Local Application, Single Hazard Protection and Multi-Hazard Protection

A low pressure CO2 fire suppression system is ideal for applications that require large quantities of CO2 for complete protection. This could be a single hazard with a large volume of protection space. Low pressure CO2 is ideal for facilities with multiple, separate hazards. Such applications utilize one CO2 storage vessel, and through the use of selector valves, the fire systems can protect one or all hazards simultaneously. Also, additional hazards are more easily added in the future when utilizing a low pressure system.

Storage units are compact and are typically located outdoors to conserve valuable floor space. CO2 storage capacities range from 1-1/4 ton to 60 ton or more if required. When multiple discharges are required or the necessary quantity of CO2 exceeds 4000 lbs. (1818 kg) [2000 lbs. (909 kg) for initial discharge and 2000 lbs. (909 kg) for extended discharge], a low pressure CO2 system is more cost effective when compared to a comparable high pressure CO2 system. Seici Core Fire Protection Systems consultants will analyze your facility and determine the CO2 suppression system arrangement to best protect your property and equipment.

High pressure CO2 fire suppression systems are a cost-effective fire protection solution for use on a wide range of applications. These systems effectively extinguish surface and deep-seated fires. A high pressure CO2 system is ideal for hazards with minimal space and weight requirements and smaller volume. Additionally, they are able to be installed quickly and can be configured to suit your specific needs. As stated, the cylinders are much smaller than a low pressure system and are available in a variety of sizes, including 50 lbs. (22 kg), 75 lbs. (34 kg), or 100 lbs. (45 kg). The cylinders can be set up to operate individually or manifolded togetheras may be required for larger applications. Seici Core Fire Protection Systems consultants will analyze your facility and determine the CO2 suppression system arrangement to best protect your property and equipment.

Seici Core Fire Protection Systems can bring your CO2 suppression system into compliance with the latest NFPA 12: Standard on Carbon Dioxide Extinguishing Systems. This standard has implemented additional life safety requirements for all new and existing systems (both low and high pressure) to best protect your operators and improve the overall reliability of the CO2 fire suppression system. Life safety equipment includes pneumatic time delays, pneumatic discharge sirens, odorizers, and supervised discharge pressure switches to indicate when the system has been actuated. Additional warning signs and supervised isolation block valve requirements have been enacted to best protect personnel during normal operating and maintenance procedures. Lastly, an upgrade to Class 300 pipe fittings for ¾" pipe and smaller is also now required per the latest edition of NFPA 12.

In an unusual action, the NFPA now requires that existing systems be upgraded by December 31, 2008. These systems are designed to better warn personnel when CO2 systems have discharged and protect them during normal maintenance procedures. These upgrades are also intended to improve the overall reliability of the CO2 system. Seici Core specializes in retrofitting both low and high pressure CO2 systems with the required life safety upgrades.

To learn more about these new requirements, please read our Brochure and White Paper on NFPA 12 - Life Safety Upgrades.

Fog Sanitisation

In addition to its impressive efficacy, our fog sanitisation process is designed with convenience and safety in mind. The compact, user-friendly equipment allows for quick and efficient treatment of various spaces, from busy restaurant kitchens to sensitive medical facilities. Each treatment is meticulously applied by our certified professionals, ensuring comprehensive coverage and maximum effectiveness. The fog disperses evenly, penetrating even hard-to-reach areas, leaving no residue or unpleasant odors behind. This means that after the brief application period, spaces are immediately ready for use without any lingering chemical effects, providing a seamless blend of hygiene and operational continuity.

We have trained and certified personnel in all our activities to ensure services of the highest level.
